In July 2008 we mediated the first child sponsorship. Sandra Heupel from Düsseldorf became Gita Sherpa ‘s godmother. With Sandra‘s financial contribution and support Gita attends now the Highland Boarding School in Dhunche.

Due to a colleague’s removal to Nepal in order to help children in poverty, I took the sponsorship of a Nepalese child and became her godmother. The wish to support children, who have not so much good fortune in their life’s and to offer them a chance, which they never would have, was always with me. Then the right moment had come to realize this wish. I had a happy childhood and I was able to experience many things and enjoyed a good education with the help and support of my family. It is a wonderful experience, that a single person with a small contribution can put a smile into the face of the children and families. I am happy that I can transmit a piece of my good fortune to another person.
